Building Cadets – Mackay

Career opportunity in management in the building industry.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to employ Building Cadets for our office in Mackay to assist the Managing Director, Project Managers and Estimator with all aspects of building project administration and management.

A Building Cadetship is a full-time position working in management in the building industry, whilst undertaking a university degree in Building Construction Management on an external basis during the term of their employment. The degree takes 6 years to complete part-time and is available through Central Queensland University.  The company offers 2 paid study days per month. 

Careers available to cadets who complete their degree include Estimating, Contract Administration and Project Management.  These career paths could see you earning a 6 figure income once qualified with experience. 

Typical duties would include: 

• Assisting with preparation of building tenders
• Liasing with subcontractors and suppliers
• Quantity take off of materials
• Ordering of building materials
• Contract Administration requirements
• Preparation of subcontract agreements

Applications are sought from:

• Students who have partially completed building industry related degrees (eg civil engineering)
• Candidates with a carpentry trade or similar who wish to pursue a career in management in the building industry
• School Leavers anticipating an OP 10 or higher.

Cadet Building Estimator – Mackay

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a graduate to join our team in our Mackay office. This is a career opportunity to train directly under the Managing Director and Estimator and after an initial period incorporate a business development role.

Applicants should be currently studying or have completed a Construction Management Degree or Quanity Surveying degree. They should have excellent communication skills both written and oral, be well presented and keen to pursue a career in commercial building estimating. Please send applications to:
